Name a memory that sticks out vividly in your mind. Does seeing the last Harry Potter count? Maybe not...how about my high school graduation. I vividly remember standing there after the ceremony and looking around at everyone hugging...and thinking "Holy shit I have to grow up now."
What are you most proud of? I honestly have no idea. Maybe that I've still got my V card? I know that sounds weird. But I'm really glad I can say that I've never given that part of me to someone who didn't love me or who I didn't love. I can still give that to my husband, and I will be able to say "Hey, I saved this for you. No one else got to have this, and I want you to have it forever." I like that. I want that. It has been a long 26 years though...
First of all - Hooray for keeping a piece of yourself for your husband, even when it's difficult, and even when society is constantly pushing that it's not anything special. IT IS, and that is an awesome decision!

7) Seeing somebody my age that had passed away at the hospital I work in... I remember standing there thinking 'holy shit, faaaark that could be me.' Nightmare causing, life defining, mindset changing moment right there!!
8) I'm proud that I was the first in my family to move to a completely new part of the country and make a new life. I'm proud I survived the change.
9)I don't believe in regrets, they would be all consuming if I started to think about them. I figure I just have to learn from my mistakes and make damn sure I don't make them again. I refuse to dwell on regret, I'd fall apart if I do.

ReplyDeleteI wanna be an explorer/sailor, a good mother, a good friend, and just an overall good person... though some times, I do consider all those things of the realm of possible. :)
2) What is the first thing you do when you get off work?
When I get home from work, the first thing I do is kick off my shoes and look for something to eat. (the pants can wait -- haha!)
3) If you could go anywhere, where would you go?
I would go everywhere! Europe, Asia, Africa, South America, random Pacific islands... well, everywhere except for places near the Poles. I hate the cold.
4) If you could have any pet what would you have?
I wish I could have a pet dragonfly or a tiger.

I was 6 when my family moved from Georgia to Florida. I missed Georgia and hated Florida for the longest time... I was young, but I still felt uprooted and vulnerable because of all the changes that happened at that time. And that event has really had a major impact on my life. At first, the impact was negative. But now, I can definitely count it as a positive. :)
8) What are you most proud of?
I'm most proud of my family -- my siblings, specifically. They're so smart, so strong, so naturally positive, so... NOT shy. (haha!) it makes me a bit jealous sometimes. I know they're gonna do great things. And I really am proud to be the oldest sister of so many good kids. Even though I really didn't have anything at ALL to do with how they turned out.
9) What do you most regret?
I regret giving up what you're most proud of. It's my one regret. I've done a lot of things that I'm not proud of, but I don't regret them. That one thing, I do. I was young, and in a bad place, but you can't take your virginity back once it's been given away -- or, as in my case, thrown away. Kudos for holding onto your's for so long... I wish I would've held mine.
10) What would be your life's theme song?
Well... these lyrics pretty much sum up where I am in life at the moment:
